[ Submission Guidelines ] [ Writer's Resources ]
There is no shortage of information about
writing on the Internet. Just go to your favorite search engine and type in a
key word, such as "author," "writing," "poetry,"
"fiction," "novel," "publisher," etc. Instead of
trying to duplicate what others have done, or trying to offer a definitive list
of resources, we've put together a basic list of steps to get you started
writing and to point you in the right direction when you need help.
Before you look for a publisher, here are
some things you should do:
Arrange your schedule so you can write daily.
* Figure out what time of the day you have available, and
write.
* Even if it's a short time, be consistent.
* Some writers set a goal of a certain number of pages
each day.
* Your schedule may vary from time to time, but keep
writing.
Join
national or local writers groups.
* American Christian
Writers Association
* Mystery Writers
of America

* Science Fiction Writers of America
Study your craft and the market.
* Most writers groups hold seminars and workshops.
* Read books and listen to tapes.
