It had been raining for a long time. The little beavers
were tired of waiting for it to stop. Junior pressed his nose to the window
leaving nose prints and making squashy-looking faces at the beavers passing by.
Flacro sat in her room looking out the window. As she worked
on a new story, she tapped her pencil to the rhythm of the rain.
Max was busy trying on clothes and arranging her fur into new
hairdos.
Little Darlin was having a tea party with her dolls.
Sharro was absolutely bored. She paced around the living room
watching Junior make faces on the window. Finally Sharro stopped and asked,
"Junior, can you tear yourself away from that window and play a game of
checkers with me?"
Junior made one last ugly-looking face at an old beaver
walking by and said, "Sure, Sharro. I'll play checkers. Bet I win
too."
Author Biography:
Linda Petty and Sharon Parrett were born in
Flint, Michigan along with their other siblings, two older sisters and one
brother.
Sharon has lived in Plant City, Florida for the past twenty years with her husband Troy. They have two grown sons, Troy Jr. and Michael, and a granddaughter, Amy. Sharon loves to spend time at church, doing crafts and singing in the choir.
Linda, the youngest of five siblings, lives in the small town of Montrose, Michigan with her husband, Darwin. They have two daughters and two sons, a grandson and a step-granddaughter. Linda spends her free time painting, doing crafts and working in the yard and, most of all, spoiling her dog Laci.
They both collaborated on the Beaver Village series, each contributing their own ideas. What one didn't think of, the other one did, thus making delightful short stories for young and old to enjoy.
